The Georgian City of Bath is a wonderful place to visit, full of fine buildings, beautiful parks, riverside walks and of course the Roman Baths.  If you have only a limited time available, the following sites are definitely not to be missed:

Roman Baths (D5)  Bath's main attraction dates from the first century AD.  The Romans arriving at this loop in the River Avon at a spot where mineral-rich water escaped from the bowels of the earth at a constant temperature of 46ºC decided to make use of this natural phenomenon and founded Aquae Sulis.  . . . .

(More descriptive text appears on the map, not only about the Baths, but also about Bath Abbey, the Royal Crescent and Pulteney Bridge)

The map lists other places in the city which can be visited, giving the map location in each case.  Below are a few samples of the types of places shown;  the actual list is much more extensive. The usual alphabetical street index is published beneath the map itself.  Address and telephone number details are given for Tourist Information Centres.
